Urgent Help Needed, my 97 LR wont start

newbie here and desperately hoping for some help.
my 97 Landrover v8i wont start.
the alarm light is on and the "key in car" light is flashing ONLY when ignition is fully on.
I have been given the royal run around by LR dealers already today, eventually got a 4 digit code to use, but this has not worked.
    Engine will not turn over.
car was not locked prior to the first unsuccessful attempt to start it, i was never given a button/key when i purchsed the vehicle, and have NEVER activated the alarm/immobiliser.

Desperately need to get this car going today, im a wildlife rescuer and foster carer and in this heat have already been called to 3 rescues i ahve been unable to attend.

I have heard this before but I am unaware of anything in reality but try pushing your car forward or backward a few meters it may be due to radio frequency interruption to the cars computer? If it works Im a genius but more likely I doubt it!
Good luck and well done on the rescue work

I don't think this will work (because it doesn't sound like the right symptoms) but it might be worth a try anyway:

In the engine bay on the firewall up near the passenger side is a black rubber button, push it, and re-try starting it.
This is the crash/rollover engine stop inertia switch.
In a crash it stops the engine, unlocks the doors, and turns on the hazard lights.
So not your symptoms, but worth a try.

The other electronic type of thing springs to mind is the immobiliser "spider" alarm.
Do a search under "spider" and there should be lots of posts about it.
Generally, it is the factory immobiliser electronic box that lives under the radio behind the fan controls, so it is hard to get to easily.
It is known to fault and cause the vehicle to become immobile.
It can be replaced or bypassed, again try a search for it.

Maybe also check out the earth straps from the battery/block/chassis and I think there is one from the starter motor to the chassis as well.

Hope you get mobile soon and continue the good work.
