Having them sitting that far forward will cause problems.
Ovbiously the light design is a key point, but you need to run slim style lights and they will reflect off the bonnet & / windscreen
I assume you mean the uk one Dave. The only problem I had with glare was through the sun roof, so my temporary gaffa tape fix over the front 1/4 of the glass has remained for about 3 years.

I get no glare off the windscreen or bonnet.

I run 4 hella 181 lights on the roof with phillips 55w globes. With it's lower profile the 181 does ok for clearance under trees.

They are aimed about 100m straight ahead and to the sides for slower bush work. The HID's on the bull bar are for distance.

ok here are few more pictures of the roof lights.

They are mounted on the factory roof rack.

The roof rack has three removable cross bars.

I have used the further most forward cross bar. hmmm wonder how they would work if I mounted them 1 row back?

To keep the lights low, in the second shot you can sort of see that I have added a right angle bracket to the front of the cross bar to mount the lights to. It only saves me about 2.5 cm, but when it sits at 2.2 high without the lights every bit counts.

The rear view shot in the last pick shows how I have used a right angle bracket to stop any shake. It is bolted to the cross bar and I use cable ties so that I can remove the lights easily for day time use.
