The 4HP24EH might handle the LS1 as its rated to just under 500Nm, but the shifting will be all wrong for that motor, especially considering it revs harder than a Rover V8. Mind you there are computer over rides, but that probably makes is too many $$$ as you say.Quote:

Yea, they are light and when you have one stripped down you can see further as to why, tiny rods and bolts, no skirts on the pistons, zero deck, there is no excess anywhere..........and no room for bluepriniting:DQuote:

Thank you Gentlemen regarding the all the info on engine weights etc.
I would still rather go down the path of one of the SA recoed 4.6 engines they sell for what I consider is a very good price, given that the engine has a decent cam fitted to it. They fit the good none slip liners and provide a chip for the fuel injection and it all bolts straight in without any fuss or engineering hassles.
Horsepower isn't everything, however having said that having quite a bit more then what a standard tired 3.9 delivers would be a really good thing.

So its still a long way off, i still havnt even started putting the new rear diff together yet, and have the fuel system to setup and electricals to sort out... but like you said, hopefully it will be a rocket when its down(atleast but LR standards ;))
WOO HOO they are back at work and going over it now. Will go in, in the morning to have a yak about it. Funny when I rang he asked umm do you do much 4wding? absolutely no point in having a highly modified vehicle and not use it. I think he is wondering about all the scratches down the sides of her.
