was just short of buying a new discovery.
wire up a spare headlight (use the hibeam side) to the signal wire on the starter and turn the key..
if it doesnt light its the starter relay, the start position on the switch or the spider
find the starter relay and plug wire a park light across its singal and earth (dont use a seperate earth point yet if it lights its the starter if it doesnt goto a seperate earth and try again.
if that doesnt work then its the spider or the switch and its now time for someserious pulling apart.
