Thanks for the offer MacMan, I might take you up on that. I'll mount the GT40 in for the moment to test anyway and see how it goes. Can stay in though as I need it for the boat.

Haven't road tested it yet as the coil is just temp wired above the other one. My coil is mounted up on the inner gaurd to make way for a duel battery. I'll see if it starts tomorrow as I've got to get to work now.

    Cheers, David.

Just sent my spare coil to member Michael2 in Bayswater, you could ask him if he still wants it as he decided to go for one of my Bosch conversions instead: http://www.aulro.com/afvb/technical-...sch-024-a.html Ask him how long his car runs with a GT40 coil.

Thanks Bee utey, I sent Michael2 a PM. So what happens with the GT40 and how long does it last. I was just going to use it to get going until I can sort something out. I want the car going for Saturday AULRO meet.

Has anyone else got a spare coil I could use to test with to get thing running in the short term. I don't want to cause any more problems.

    Cheers, David.

Michael2 got back to me and the coil just arrived from Bee utey. He said I can have it to get me going again (Thanks Michael). I will go and pick it up tonight and let you know how it goes.

He told me that the GT40 eventually cooked his Amp so I will give that path a miss.

    Update.
Looks like I have it sorted. I picked up an original coil from another AULRO member last night and put it in today. It started no problems. I put the old one back in for a test and no go. So looks like it was definently the coil playing up. Did a 30km test loop and ran very smooth and more responsive. I'll test over the next few days but hopefully good now.

Thanks for your advice and generous offer of parts guys.

    Cheers, David.

PS: I had a bit of a panic on the road test. When I was comming back into town I heard a loud wrrring noise from the engine bay so pulled over and thought WHAT NOW. It was the Viscouc fan kicking in, Prooves it was not work in the past before I just changed it last week. lol!
    Cheers, David.
