    Dodgy Doors

    G'day all, Happy New Year.

I have some issues with my front doors on my 97 disco. The drivers door opens from the outside but not the inside. My front passenger door opens from the inside but not the outside.

So if myself and a passenger are to enter the disco - I have to open my door and get inside to open theirs. If we want to exit the disco - the passenger has to get out to open mine.

On my own I have to lower the window to open my door from the outside and then switch the ignition back around to close the window once the door is open.

Personally, I think it's fun and gives the disco some humorous character... but it is actually quite dangerous if I was to get into an accident or had to evacuate the disco in a hurry. Also, the passengers only find it amusing for the first couple of times.

I know I'm going to have to pull apart the doors and tighten some cable, but i've never actually done it before. It could be very easy, but I wanted ask on here before I make something bad worse.

To adjust the outside door handle, take the door skin off and look on the back of the door handle (inside the door) you will see a short rod with a clip on the handle end and and a thread on the other end.
Unclip the clip (carefully) and then wind the rod inwards about 1 or 2 turns (sort of clockwise) then clip it back up & try it,
It may need another turn if it doen't work

    With the inside handle,
At the latch end i think there is a nut on the rod you can turn to adjust it.
