    No ,
On my 94 model it's on the side of the dizzy, has a 3 pin connector.

On my 96 model it's between the radiator & the coil, and the dizzy only has a 2 pin connector.

I'd be looking at the Fuel Filter. Classic symptoms.

Every time I meet a problem like this it eventually turns out to be a faulty amplifier. They seem to be good at partial failures. I usually get a Bosch BIM024 module and wire that instead, never had a problem with that conversion.
An EFI system will run poorly under full load with a blocked filter, but what blocks a filter is usually the remains of the EFI pump. Unless you run a pressure gauge on the fuel rail to check and comfirm, I would suspect the amplifier.

gave up on it today as the sun was shinning!!!!

Fuel filter is brand new, the old one did have a bit a crud in it.
I'l have a look at amplifier tomorrow, what sort of price are they.

When on my way home from work this morning it worked well for 15 min, then got back firing and no power on excelleration , i pulled into servo for fuel, fill up with vortex 95 as it runs well on it, pulled out servo and it was like new

Fwiw, my 3.9 V8i runs very well on 91RON. which also is the LR recommended Minimum Grade fuel for the 3.9.
Drives from the Adelaide Plains to the highest point at Mount Lofty in 4th gear quite well.

I have used 91 ulp, but i prefer the 95 vortex as i get better mileage as i drive on the highway alot towing, there is nothing in the price differ by the time you add it all up, but for just city driving i would used 91 ulp.

Well i have fitted a new lucas amplifier and the same problem persists, this seems to be a heat up issue, it runs fine for 15 minutes or so, and as soon as i give it throttle it starts playing up.

Would the coil have anything to do with it?
