    Soft then Hard acceleration pedal

    WELL...i have a D1 300tdi and...

seems like i'm getting that hard pedal feeling once again. Not as bad as it was before the injector pump change over but its there. Went for a bit of a play yesterday and on the way there the pedal seemed a little hard than usual but when on the way home it went soft again. Had a look at the pedal and put some wd on it but everything seemed fine.

Has anyone got any pics of how there acceleration cable is connected and how its fed from the fire wall to the injector pump bracket??

Are you sure it's not earthing thru' the cable? heating the cable causing expansion and then giving the hard feel to the pedal.

Sounds like a kink/dirty/damaged wire kinda thing. Happened to me on previous vehicles, where the cable started breaking and the threads were sometimes catching on somthing causing it to almost feel like it was siezed.

I find myself lubing the cable every service. Make a cone of cardboard or similar and tape it around the inner cable. Hang the cable to a handy spot on the bonnet with a peg and fill the cone with oil or spray grease of your choice. You can buy cable oilers but I still think the cone works better if you have the time and inclination.

Thanks all for your input. I just changed my acceleration cable to a newie. Would I have to oil it up being new? Have put wd down there but not oil.

    I would (I do).
WD40 won't really last for you, try to find some TAC2 or similar if you can.
