    Radiator advice

    Hi guys,
I'm due for a replacement radiator. The standard items are looking to cost from $700 - $1000, and $1700 from Rover
I've done a search and seen some people have gotten alloy rads for about the same money.
    Are alloy rads any better?
Where around southern Sydney would I get one at a good price?
Even posting from interstate if the price was right.

    Have you tried fleabay UK?

Why not just get yours rebuild?
I have mine done every 2-3 years.
    No overheating under my hood.

    Also try TRS in SA.

Two main places you can probably get a decent 2nd hand radiator (Both types)

TR spares Padstow ( Just off the M5)

Land Vehicle spares Silverdale ( Nr Warragamba Dam)

Also, you might want to consider a re- core of an old radiator - it gives you the advantages of a new radiator with your old one as a spare. And it is probably more local.

    hey dude
after radiator problems with mine and alot of good advice came from both here and rad joints
dont stuff around with trying to get a ally rad because its pointless unless you doing extream 4x4 and so on< i didnt listen past 30 second of babble lol
400 bucks get you a 3 core which is the rover standard im told
    600 will get a 4 core rad

i was lucky and already had a 4 core in it i had it cleaned up and re done
now shes cool as even on a 38degree day with air con going

Hi guys, Thanks for the replies.
    It's a V8 3.9
Yes an alloy job may be overkill, but why not if it's cheaper or the same price?
I've trid LVS (I use them a lot) and no joy.
    Perhaps TR spares could help.
I actually asked the question regarding the rebuild, and didn't really get any kind of answer from the radiator guys in town here.

Sorry DB, I hadn't been on for a few days, and I had to sort out a problem with my network before having too much fun.
I'm going to have a gander now.

That is a good price, I was actually quoted for a brand new radiator.
The plumbing on mine looks different though, does anyone know if the 300tdi rad is the same as the V8?

Aluminium should be cheaper and will have a shorter life span than a Brass/copper one.
If you intend on keeping the vehicle for 10 years or more don't buy an alloy one.
