I would check to see there is no oil on the shoes, sounds like that to meLeaking rear output seal isn't unusual

Ever since I had a new clutch fitted I am finding my hand brake is getting effiecient.
It now struggles to hold can on even a light incline and have to turn off and leave in gear and than it sometimes rolls on compression on a boat-ramp or so.
Could there be fluid or something, on my past Landies the centre handbrake has always been best if not too good as it can be jerky but now I am struggling to get it to stop from rolling.
The lever goes about 3/4 of way up and gets tight just no stopping power.
Any ideas be very much appreciated.![]()

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈
Rear seal was done but might be leaking again. Bloody expensive to replace again.
Hope its not that but no other fluid can really get to it!
My mechanic is a bit hit and miss
By rear seal you mean rear transfer case output shaft seal? The seal is $27 genuine Corteco brand, even a complete flange kit is less than $150, and this consists of rear output flange, locknut, seal and felt shaft spline seal. Fitting is .5 to 1 hour tops.

Hmm.
I will have to check, maybe I misread on invoice, I know output shaft and rear main was done but now not sure what cost what.
Better double check before I fly off the handle.
Thanks.
Had exactly the same prob. Oily shoes replaced, same prob three weeks later. Posted here for help.
Someone recommended a sealant which is what my mechanic did after I took the post to him. Fixed it for less than $90 all up. Been fine for over a year now. Do a search on handbrake to find the original post maybe.
