OK ....had a thought ..(no wise cracks from the gallery thanks!!..:D)
a while ago i moved the coil and amp from it original position as below ..

and remembered that before the swmbo was swanning it in NY...she broke down up the street and i had to go down to save her ..lol
got home alright , popped the bonnet in the garage and noticed a sparking short from one of the wires, which one it was i do not know...so i separated them and taped them up...and the problem was fixed....
today i thought that maybe just maybe there was still a problem in that area , and moved the coil and amp back to where it came from ........just took it for a run for half an hour and not one hesitation !!!!
now I'm not getting my hopes up because this has happened before (every time i replace or do something it goes fine for a few hours and then turns to crap againe).........but could someone tell me (as i don't have a rav)...what is in that area that would short or throw spark because of the coil wires?....and could this have caused the problem ?
cheers
