    Disco Roof Lining

    Hi all,
Has anyone had new roof lining fitted to their Disco 1? If so how much did it cost? I'm currently looking at buying a 97 Disco 1 and trying to make a list of what it needs doing..

You would save heaps if you got the head liner out of the car yourself, as this is what they hate doing... They quote heaps higher if they have to do it...

My Bro paid $500 to have his done a month ago (the whole job)....

    Thanks mate,
How far would you have to go with it? Just get the liner out or get the underside of the roof spotless?

jimmyh - you just pull the "board" type bits out (hood lining) 2 parts. Take them to the autotrimmer and they just tear the old stuff off and glue the new stuff back on - take them home and re-fit.
I got them to do mine completely as I am lazy - I think it was around $380 a couple of years ago.

I've booked my D2 in to have the roof lining done on Friday. I've pulled out all of the pillar trims as well as the grab handles and sun visors. When I get to the autotrimmer we just have to drop it out for him to re-trim it. The quote with me doing all the disassembly and reassembly is $220-$300.

I had my P38A roof card redone recently at Granville. $110 - but I removed/refitted it.

I recently replaced the head lining in my Discovery with hull liner material from Bias Marine,2.5mtrs cost about $90,cheaper at Whitworth Marine would have cost $75.Quite easy to remove the head lining and scrub off all the old foam backing, stick the new material on with Bear adhesive and burn out the necessary holes with a soldering iron.Alternative finish is to use Tuff Cote type spray,as used in ute trays etc.

$90 plus glue? That makes the $110 Scouse and I each paid for a professional to do ours seem pretty good.

I did my own for $100, 90 for lining and $10 for glue, it just takes a bit of time patients, it looks the part now.

the trickest part was the sunroofs.
