    Noisy heater fan

I have a recently acquired 200tdi and she seems to be pretty good except for a couple of small problems.

One thing that is annoying me is a noisy heater fan. When in the heater mode the fan makes a helluva racket, when in the AC mode it sometimes is noisy and sometimes not all depending on how you jiggle the control.

I pulled the centre console and heater fascia out yesterday hoping that the problem would be obvious. Alas no such luck. Does anyone have any ideas? I don't know if the heater works as I turn off the fan after a few seconds because of the din.

May be leaves as said. I had them catch fire on a falcon I had, it was smoking like an incinerator from the vents as they caught fire from the friction . It was real scarey!
Also had a piece of paper get sucked up on a later model falcon via the passenger floor well under dash recirc vent flap. It made a hell of a racket

Don't think its leaves as I'd expect them to sound a bit like footy cards in bicycle spokes. This sounds more like a low pitched insinkerator. However I could be wrong. I'll check out the fan the way Lewy describes it in the morning.
