Have the disco back but I'm unsure

Got the disco back today from having a blown head gasket.....

it was only a gasket change thankfully as I never drove the car for 2 weeks over christmas as it was the head we suspected.

The gasket had blown at number four and was pressurising the coolant system.

Now I also had a fair bit of smoke blowing before the head went black smoke but when it came to the head it was blowing grey smoke which was one of the tale tell signs we picked up on initally....

So as I have had a injector pump tweak, not only did I have the head done I also changed the injectors and had the pump turned back a fraction so its running a little leaner...I have lost a bit of power but that's probably becasue the garage doesn't adjust like bush65 and the other chap that gave me the tweaking instructions do...

anyway....the disco is not smoking as much but when it does its light grey smoke which I'm finding a little worrying...as everyone says grey smoke is an indication of low compression..

before when I had the grey smoke it was really dark..some times you looked at it and thought is it black or is it grey!

but Ian assures me its light grey now......so what could be wrong??

the car seems ok otherwise only feels a smidge down on power at the higher speeds but that could just be because I'm now used to driving the defender and it gets up to 120 no sweat..

The car has just cost me 1500bux....so would like to make sure it is right

    G'dat mate

When i got my my whole engine done.. as you would know...i still had smoke coming out mainly black. when i put the other injector pump on as it was tweaked it was blowing quite abit of black smoke and i new that as no one would drive behind me unless they where about 5-6 cars leangth away OH and the coppers pulled me up for excessive smoke lol (Nothing better to do).

Anyways...the pump. my tweak was only the top of the pump for off-idle pick which has been turned down to only half a turn. Then ended up turning the diaphram inside the pump at about Roughly between 4-7 o'clock which makes it run not so lean and it did stop the smoke prob as theres not much coming out now. Reckon i can tell that its not pumping so much fuel now cause my egt gauge sits about 345-350 cruzing level but have not tested it up hill yet.

So i reckon it still might be over-fueling but not sure on the grey smoke factor.

What tweaks u do to the pump???

The garage did my tweak... I'm not so conerned about the tweak as it only smokes under load a bit now not all the time, like it was before it went in. It's my undestanding that all tweaked pumps smoke a bit....

He has leaned it off I have noticed the difference in perfomance. However it's the light grey smoke I'm more concerned about.
