Lol thanks, I hadn't really looked properly but I couldn't get to sleep last night at all so I was sitting in bed on my iphone and am so jacked up about getting a Disco that I just wanted to write and ask anything about it
I'll check it out.
Yeah keep an eye out on here you might get some, a lot of people actually remove them because they are a nuisance offroad.
I got sick of getting hung up on mine so took them off my D1 about a month after i got it , they lay arond in the garage for years so I gave them away.
It must be quite lifted or have huge tyres if she has trouble getting in to it. Maybe just put one on her side.![]()
A mate of mine fixed the missus get in problem by carrying a small plastic step attached to a piece of string. His missus lowers it down for exit and when in the Disco she just hauls it up. It's big enough to tuck away without probs in the disco.![]()
Haha she can get in okay but she's a rather petite little thing and some kind of step would be good for her.
I had side steps on my RRC and they sure took a beating.
Took them off and also gave away and the fella still has them, still bend.
Think twice about them as said by most.
The other option not mentioned so far is rocksliders with a step.
Traditional sidesteps are attached under the sills and therefore hang down lower causing problems offroad.
Rocksliders replace the plastic sill with metal so don't hang down at all compared to the standard sill.
You can get them with usually tubular metal extensions for rubing against trees which can double for a little (maybe a bit arkward) step.
They are not cheap to buy straight up though, around the $600 mark I think.
Lots of people on here have made them themselves, if you are handy with that sort of thing.
Here is a link to a Rovacraft catalogue that has them in it for reference (pg 64):

If you're doing tough offroad stuff why not go rock sliders with built in steps?
