con grats but you should know the rules where is the pics
Hey everyone! It's been a few months since being on here cos of holidays, and now I'm back.
As some may remember, I had been searching for a Disco for quite some time and wasn't finding 'the' one for me...well that's all changed now! Yep as of today, I'm the proud new owner of a 1996 manual, diesel 5dr. Being patient has definitely paid dividends, as finding a diesel in such condition with the right accessories was proving nearly impossible in my price bracket. I'd almost given up hope n started to look at V8's.
The condition mechanically and presentation-wise was far better than anything I'd found, and knew instantly that it was the one I had been seeking for months. It's getting a new windscreen and rwc tomorrow, so hope to pick it up tomorrow night...for now it's a giddy n sleepless night ahead!I'll take some pics of it as soon as I get it.
It's already well equipped with a lot of the more important and expensive items, but like any good project there is always more to add. I already have a fair list of things to buy and do to it, as it's to be my touring beast and needs to be setup for my move to Darwin in approx a months time. First things on the list are a thumping sound system, uhf, a cargo barrier. bonnet n headlight protectors, then will need to suss out priorities according to the $'s left-over. Hoping to put a water tank and air compressor in as well.![]()

Good work.
Hope its all you wanted and than some.
So do we park the Jeep up now?
Well done![]()
Now we get to watch you set it up for the big trip![]()
Cheers! Now you can't give me so much grief for not having a Landy!
LOL, nah I'm leaving the Jeep in Vic and mum can take care of it for me. It's fair to say I won't be using much from now on though...just handy to have around for those times I come back home.
While I've been antsy today waiting to find out if the Landy will be ready to collect tonight, I indulged in a little retail therapy for the beast and bought it the first of many mods to come. Hehe!

Just learned that the Landy will be ready to collect early tomorrow evening! Very excited, but means another sleepless night ahead!
I've already starting stripping a few things off the Jeep which are going onto the Landy...

Alrighty...here's some pics of the Landy before I bought it. Only difference is that the driving lights are gone. If anybody has a spare rim or 2 in Vic to match the other 4 then please let me know

Cheers Stooge! PMSL! It's been a Toorak tractor pretty much its entire life (been to the snow on bitumen twice n been on a farm half a dozen times), but it's my tourer from now on. Fear not, it's going to be VERY well looked after n not abused, especially as it's also going to be my daily-driver up the top-end. Abuse is for the Jeep, not for this rig...it's too damned important.
The seller was the nephew, then cousin of Rangie Automotive (business changed hands). It's had EVERYTHING done to it with no expense spared. Patience really is a virtue fellas! I hit the jackpot big-time! I'm normally a very impatient person, but learned the lesson of waiting for months n searching around when buying my current sportsbike. The same principle has paid divends richly.
It's getting a whole heap of quality goodies in the coming few weeks, so stay posted for updates. I took the advice of so many here when I started looking and stuck to it, and this has been the result...a great machine with impeccable history, and way under budget. More goodies for the rig, plus $'s left over for any issues. Hehehe!
