Thread: When was the last time you tested your jack?

usually the jack gets tested once a fortnight (and I've got 6 different one) but then thats usually because thats how often I use them more than because I want to test them

you can use almost any oil in the jack its not a performance hydraulic system.

castrol hyspin 68 is about right but why bother when your engine oil will be more than sufficient.


The reason the jack leaks its oil out is because the fill plug faces down when the jacks in the stowed position. as the engine heats and cools the oil its expansion and contraction forces it out of the reservoir past the filler bung.

Yep i take mine for a rap around and then try and stop hard on a straight strech of road. if ive changed the pads then i bed them in by braking firmly a few times.
