    TDI black cover

    dose this do anything apart from making the motor look special ???

    Or is it to help for cold wether starting??

    Just wondering

    Probably there so you cant see any oil leaks. A clever LR trick.

    I think it just makes it look pretty.

    New cars all have them so we don't stick our fingers in somewhere and makes them look cool.

    Ive taken mine off as it's starting to rub on my top radiator hose and when i spill oil when toping it up it is a PITA to clean up. also it hides any leakes which would be bad. also i cleaned down the engine with degreaser the other day and now the rocker cover is gleaming and it looks better than the crappy black plasticey crud

    Also adds to the service fee charges... stealership. .5 hrs to remove black plastic cover
