Height sensors
The SLABS ECU provides outputs and receives inputs from the left and right
hand height sensors as follows:
LH height sensor
• Power supply output from SLABS ECU pin C0654-1 on an SY wire to LH
height sensor pin C0764-5.
• Earth output from SLABS ECU pin C0654-2 on an SU wire to LH height
sensor pin C0764-1.
• Signal input from LH height sensor pin C0764-4 on an SR wire to SLABS
ECU pin C0654-3.
RH Height sensor
• Power supply output from SLABS ECU pin C0654-4 on an SG wire to RH
height sensor pin C0763-5.
• Earth output from SLABS ECU pin C0654-5 on an SO wire to RH height
sensor pin C0763-1.
• Signal input from RH height sensor pin C0763-4 on an SB wire to SLABS
ECU pin C0654-6.

looks like the BCU not the SLABS ECU is controlled by the remote, then the BCU triggers the SLABS

Thats what I had figured.

The BCU (I think) is the same unit that the alarm remote talks to. IIRC, it is in the roof space by the centre light.

Just need to work out what it is sending to the SLABS voltage wise

its only triggering a single wire

so it may be a variable signal ?
either that or the SLABS has an on/ff approach to the raise/lower.

anyone with a remote might be able to tell us if the raise/lower remote is proportional or just hit it once to lower to a set point and once to raise to the standard height

Yep, that is the bit that is going to make it difficult.

Best case scenario is that, for example, the BCU sends -12v to lower & +12v to raise...


Might try measuring the voltage like you suggested...

Something to do on the weekend between V8 races...

if you considered bypassing all that and control the pump valves direct, you would have to disable the height sensors. perhaps a manual overide switch to relays disconnecting the height sensors, then you could just supply power to the pump and the appropriate valve/s through relays.

Disabling the height sensors would be ok to lower, but might be a bit risky to raise.

Do you think there is a risk of over inflating the bags?

yeah definately. i wouldnt bother with manually raising. as the sls will level itself while the engine is running if you re-enable the heights sensors.

infact, that would make the procedure simple to implement. manual overide switch to deflate. then when you reenable it will raise automatically.
so all you would need to do is isolate the height sensors with relays triggered from a on/off switch. and then have a momentary switch trigger a relay to open the exhaust valve and drop the car.
on/off switch back to normal lifts the car up to nromal

only thing would need to work out is the valves. i think left and right valve need to be open and exhaust valve to deflate.

Might have to crawl around the car with a voltmeter...

If the height sensors are disabled, does the SLABS read this a being too high, and then vent the bags?

possibility. or maybe just trigger a fault. might end up with christmas lights all over the dash.



hmm. another thought. nanocom has transport function in it that drops the rear of the car on the ground. wonder how hard that is to implement. possibly the same function as the remote lower. although i think that function can only be enabled via pc. not thought the nanocom handset.

Dont want pretty lights....
