i ran i 2"lift with 285/75/16 silverstones and i did not need to cut the guards ,tho needed to trim the plastic sills but shortly after fitted custom sliders had a arb front bar but i think if you still have the factory plastic bar a fair bit of trimming is needed,just bare in mind by going bigger tyres other issues come into play gearing is affected, and with turning those bigger tyres offroad alot of strain and stress gets put on axels cv diff centers

I want to run 285,75,16 bfgoodrich KM2 or mickey thompsons. I want to put a 3 inc lift i was wondering do you need to do a caster or camber correction with a 3 inc lift. Does anyone run 25mm offset on 8 inc rim with this type of lift and tyre set up. I dont want to cut the guard on the car.
Car is 2002 td5 auto. Will I need to put 411 diff in it or will it be ok if I do the intercooler, hoses and chip it
Do you also need extend the ABS sencor with a 3 inc lift
What is the best way to extend the brake line all new ones.

I'm with kelvin, as i run his old setup
No need for extended lines at 2 inch, i have never had a problem, plus you can run 285/75r16 on standard rims, there really isnt a need to go to 8 inch.

Those 285/75's are on 7" rims. Most legally need 8" rims. George S and I did a test with a 2" lift and 285/75 MTR's on 8" rims and got rubbing in the front and rear wheel arches. The Disco was also not fully flexed up.

Well i have an arb bar so that shouldn't be a prob, its a manual so will i need to change the diff gears? there are a few lift kits on ebay are they any good, with the kits cannon pointed out i also get free frieght if i buy through ebay. I was looking at up grading my axles but there is such a huge difference in prices so im not sure what is good for the money.

You could change the diff gears if you want, but it wouldnt be necissary straight away, it will be pretty bloody sluggish and you will have a bigger chance of breaking your diffs though. I havn't done anything to mine yet as i am on a tight budget, i just try and pick different lines and avoid bouncing back and forward (when accelerating) on hills etc. and I just deal with the crap gearing otherwise. I am about to buy some black sunnies for the mud tyres to go on soon though and i will be running some standard size tyres i have on the alloys for around town to save the sluggishness and the bad fuel economy and just deal that on the weekend when im driving
