Whatever you decide on, spend a small amount of the money getting it checked by a dedicated landrover mechanic before you hand over the hard earned. Disco's do have common issues that can be real expensive (just check these forums).
If you get one from a yard make sure all lights on the dash illuminate when you turn the key on.
When you get your's you'll know what comfy 4wdriving is all about.

And after you get it checked, if you do, be sure to check back here because alot of mechanics can talk alot of **** and you might be really badly mislead... i generally dislike mechanics these days and do all my own work because of too many bad experiences with them.

    Thanks guys,

    I've also found a 99 TD5 auto with 173,000km for $10k
and the 2000 TD5 in the link I post with a heap of goodies where the seller is asking for $15k which one would think you could get a little cheaper

    cheers again

"Dedicated" rover mechanics who specialise in rovers and rely on we rover enthusiasts for there business.
Damn right there's dodgy mechanics and I recon they should be named and shamed so they don't stich anyone else.
