Prefered Oil ,Oil and Air filters for SEII 2001 V8

For those of you that like to GET INVOLVED with your L/R's
Who uses what??,and the reasons why??
Genuine filters or K&N and other performance parts??
I Used to use only original on my restored Series 3 109, But with a pending new purchase of a 2001 Disco SE V8, I am keen to hear from the genuine parts group as well as any Performance Kids as well.
    Cheers every one.
    Many thanks

Why not visit The Good Oil Forum and have a read?

"Oils by Rick130",, is a good start,,

"Air Filters cleaning and testing" is a must read,,
"How long since you've visited The Good Oil?"

My personal choice filterwise is Mann+Hummel but can be hard to find uless you go to a filter specialist.

Oil, well synthetic is really the only option if you want to do it right. Avoid cheap oils like GTX etc.
Penrite do a good range of syn oils now as do a number of other manufacturers.
I am a bit lucky as I have 1000L of Mobil Delvac 1 at my disposal at work which I now use in both the TD5 and the V8! No more humungous oil costs!!!!

    cheers

Mobil 1 for sure. As I said above, I use the diesel synthetic.
Jury is out on K&N but for road only apps. Is fine but really no major benefit unless you are applying them to high horsepower applications.
I used to sell these years ago and still have one on my V8 classic but use additional filter wraps if going into dusty areas.
    Cheers

Ok then thats K&N out the window then. What about the Original Filters then, i can not seem to scource the ones you recommend in NZ. Might try Europe while i am here.
