You could have had a day in the big smoke for the difference in the price!![]()
unfortunately i found a couple of guys local that had actually done these before, and i could see the gleam in their eyes as soon as they saw it was a disco.
$275 was cheapest quote for reskinning if i removed it and refitted it myself. $480 if they did the whole thing.
if i could have had it skinned for under $160 i would have just gone down that path.

heh, indeed. pretty happy with the outcome anyhow. plus got rid of an open tin of stone finish that i had laying around.

Hi, just wondering if the stone guard drys to that textured effect as I test sprayed over a small patch and doesn't appear textured but fairly smooth. Did you sand the fibreglass first or not worry about that? It looks great by the way.

no, its goes on with a special gun in a textured finish. need to put on a reasonably heavy coating to get the texture nixe, and i found i had to have the reg up pretty high to get good coverage.
i didnt bother sanding, just gave a good clean down and scrub.
Thanks for the info, I will be giving this a go this week. It will be interesting to see how it holds up over time, pardon the pun.
Cheers
Allan
good luck.
