Disco II with 18s not good!

    Hey Guys,

Im heading up north next month and went to buy some new tires and found out there is no A/T Tire that will fit my 18s without getting a liftkit! so now im thinking of getting some Steelie 16" wheels, But now im wondering if they make ones that clear the brakes etc and then getting some A/T tires for those. Any other options would be greatly Aprciated.

    Cheers
    Will.

Most DII's came standard with 16" wheels so brake clearance shouldn't be a problem.

my steelies are 16" dynamics, although having had them for a while i would recomend trying the procomp rock crawlers as i am not overly stolked with the strength of the dynamics. It could be my driving but either way.

General Grabber AT2's are available in the 18's, both in 265/55 and 255/55-18

Try Ebay for original D2 steels.A few of the wreckers may also have them.

I always thought that the original D2 steelies were hard to get and expensive and that the LR mags could be had for the same or smaller dollars...worth a look anyway cause the 16 LR mags are tough.

    Cheers

PS. I personally would not go bigger than 16 inch for off road but of course you just cant get 16 in a D3, Prado etc cause they all got too fat and then they needed bigger brakes to cope...

Most D2s and the P38as had a steel spare.
There would be a few around, just got to chase them.Wish I did when sorting my camper trailer wheels.
