battery in key fob died....lost all power in D2!

Hi Guys.. had a bit of a situation yesterday when dropping the missus off
at the shops. Stopped car and got out. Armed the vehicle on the remote key fob no worries. Up on returning unarmed as usual ok. Put the key in the ignition and turned.....nothing. i removed and tryed arming, nothing. I was stuck! The little LED on the key fob seemed weak. so i thought maybe the battery was dead. Luckily i was at the shops so bought new one for $4. Now the light seemed stronger. Tried and all ok. However the clock in the car had reset itself?? And also (car is LPG) when started it did not switch over to LPG as usual. in other words it usually starts on petrol then immediatly switches to gas. This time it just stayed on petrol. Wierd. Any ideas........ All okay now however but can the battery in the key fob being changed reset everything???
    Appreciate any ones thoughts...

Check the main car battery terminals and also the earth connection.

Sounds like there is a bad connection. I suspect that when you've turned the key to start, the battery voltage to the car has dropped to virtually nothing and that's why you had no response and the clock reset itself.

Yeah. True. Just gone back out this morning to truck to go to work and found same thing. No response. Checked terminals and look pretty bad. Just bought vehicle so no history on battery. Think i need to replace. Thanks for advice.
