Some help with air flow and waste gate

I have a 2000 TD5 disco and recently i have noticed on the nanocom 0.000 reading on both wastegate and air flow readings ,there are also no readings on egr but thats all been removed to the TD5 alive modification so thats self explantory.
now the Q. is do these two normaly fail together or is the other not reading the other cause one of them has failed ,and if so is there things i can do to check which has failed

are these to easily enough to replace myself as i leave on a easter trip on thursday morning and would like to have them done before i leave
    cheers Kelvin

If there are no readings on both wastegate and MAF then yes they are cactus, I would say the wastegate has probably been cactus for a while, it can be hard to tell when it goes if things around it are fine, it only shows small signs that it isn't working properly.

If you put your foot on the go pedal the wastegate will show readings if it's working, as for going at the same time, hard to tell, mine went about a month before the MAF

Strange to get 0.000 reading on the MAF.
Normally, even if you disconnect it, the ECU will give a default setting.

Might be worth a look-unplug the MAF and see what readings you get.

yeah i was told that it should give a default reading ,so i unplugged it and 0.000 then fitted new one and it sits around 58-60 on idle ,and new one unplugged reading is o.ooo

anyway so changed them both last night and car runs alot better
got to love ya nanocom picking up faults straight away

    disco_thrasher,
I have 0.00 on the wastegate for my TD5. Did you replace the wastegate solenoid ? the one down on the side of the motor with 3 or 4 hoses coming out of it? what was the approx $ for this solenoid? where from? my MAF is reading about 46g/hr so its probably OK.

    thanks
    Steve

Might want to check the fuse-

    http://www.aulro.com/afvb/electronic...ed-solved.html

After a trip to Stockton on the weekend (those soft dunes were not friendly if your missing some power ) I decided to get in and have a closer look at the problem. When checking the RAVE Engine Management (TD5) circuit diagram (page 20.1) I noticed that the following items are fed from Fuse 2 in the engine compartment fuse box-

    -Throttle - EGR Inlet
    -Modulator -EGR
    -Sensor - Mass Air Flow
    -Solenoid - Wastegate Control

Checked Fuse 2 (15A) and sure enough was blown! Fuse replaced and Disco is driving much nicer. Heaps more power down low and smoother to drive.
    Hope it's of help.
