I have just experienced the same issue with my power steering pump supply hose. Justin, can i replace the hose with a generic hydrualic hose? is there a specific type i need to get? Will I need to bleed the system after the hose replacment?

    Cheers

Hi Mark. I guess you could use generic hydraulic hose ... might not sit pretty in the engine bay ... some insulating material & cable ties should keep the hose sitting pretty.

... and no need to bleed. Just fill the reservior, start the engine, and turn the wheel L to R several times to get the air out of the system, and then top up the reservior again.

I just took my TD5 disco for its first 2hr HWY run. I noticed a puddle of fluid under the car after it was parked for 1/2 hour, it was comming from the power steering suction hose. Its just a weep atm.

Can you buy the hose individually or do you need to by the hose kit?
Any one have the part number handy.

same happened here, AU$59.60 for a hose, apprantly Land Rover Australia have plenty in stock - happens often does it......

anyway, used a jubilee clip on the end nearest the pump and then two p-clips to hold the PAS hose off the engine case.

Have you guys ever heard of the seal in the power steering being replaced?

My pump has a leak, but from what I can gather people dont bother doing the seal, they use stop leak fluid??

Whats the size of hydraulic hose needed to replace that hose. I think mine is rubbing badly n need to change asap.

Hi Hay Ewe, might have the same problem myself. Are you able to repost the pics of the clamps for the Power Steering pump? This comes from a post last June if it helps. They seem to have fallen off the internet somehow.
