    Drive line problem

Arrived home from Bendethra late yesterday afternoon. Car performed like a charm all easter and all the way home - smooth as silk. Unloaded the car, went out a couple of hours later, strong vibration underload or deceleration. Doesn't happen when coasting or no load; starts, idles and revs smoothly. So, think its drive line. If anything seems worse on deceleration. Why after cool down though, or is it the unloading?

Anyone got some ideas where to start to look? Is it likely to be CVs, universal joints, or what?

    Vehicle is D2a, manual TD5, 93000km, 50mm lift, chipped, 31" tyres.

I would check the front propshaft, particularly at the double cardin joint - the cool down and more likely by reverse loading it may have dislodged any broken bits in it. I'd also check the rotoflex joint in the rear propshaft to see if that has failed also.

Thanks, Slunnie, I'll have a look tonight. I was considering taking out the front shaft and driving to see if that made a difference but it wouldn't discriminate between the double cardan and the CVs I assume.

I meant to mention I replaced the rear rotoflex with a cardan joint some time ago so I know its not that.

Just to close out, it was the front prop shaft, with one of the bearings stuffed and, as Slunnie suggested, some broken bits.
