What is the legal position when tyre manufacturers stop making certain sizes? This has happened many times over the years as demand drops off when vehicles age, and the new cars are using different sizes. Are you expected to scrap your car, or would there be some dispensation?
There are all sorts of hold ups on Qld adopting the National Code of Practice. QLD Transport has been presented with independent tests showing that lifted vehicles done properly are better at lane changing tests than standard ones fitted with factory springs and shocks but of course braking is a little longer with bigger diameter tyres and DOT are getting hung up on that. So DOT might say that we can do 4 inch lift total, but that includes whatever higher tyres we want up to 50mm larger than standard...
Cheers
