    Back seat won't lock in

    Hi

I got a problem with the back seat. I can't get it to lock back into the upright position and the handle with the red bit on it to click back into place.

I have given the latch a lube and still no luck.

    Any Tips?

    Matt

There isn't anything on the floor under the seat is there?

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

    Hi mate,
Try slamming (dropping firmly) the base of the rear seat down before folding the seat back up, sometimes it takes some force to lock in I have found, the same also applies with the rear (6th & 7th) seats.
    Cheers Matt

    Mattg,
I presume we are talking 2nd row seats, not 3rd row here as you mention the red tab..

The handle/strap looped together that you pull upwards to release & pull seat forward to fold has probably lost its spring tension.
Slam the seat down onto the floor & then push the handle/strap down towards the floor.
Mine used to do this occassionally also. I found by accident that the handle/strap was at fault.

    Cheers

    Hi

yep, I have a bit of spring hanging out of the inside latch mechanism.

I'll see if I can work out where it goes, it doesn't look like its broken, just out of place.

    Cheers
