According to the dbs catalogue, the disks for the landrover are available in about 3 different "models", including survival, X and 4000 series.

WHich is better, why, what are people using etc.

Good question I need to order mine this week. The RDA slotted rotors are about $100 a set cheaper then the DBA. anyone had experience with the RDA and DBA to make a fair comparison.

I have also read that the slotted rotors are easily damaged by rocks and Mud any truth to this one?

    Cheers

The Survivals are for Jeep fitment only and I think just have a really cool name.

The XS are cross drilled. I'd stay away from these as the cross drilling generates stress raisers which cause cracking. I recall having lunch with one of the Dba heavyweights a few years ago at an awards, and he basically said they were for the bling.

The 4000 series have better ventilation, the Wipers are the go here which are a slotted rotor. The slotting is even over the rotor and goes to the edges. I run these and am very happy with them.

I've been running slotteds for years and years and they have never been damaged at all. I also don't running the protective backing plates either. My Disco had done a lot of hard work.

    Hi

I have got hold of a set of Green stuff EBC pads front and rear and braided lines. I have been told by a brake shop guy that the RDA and most of the rotor manufacturers use a diamond pattern on the inside of their vented rotors so they are the same as the dba paw pattern. does anyone have any ideas on this?
    Cheers matt.

Ordered my DBA rotors today, I can not believe the price difference between retailers and even different repco stores have different prices.

I have been quoted $230 for standard slotted rotors and ended up getting them for $134 for the standard slotted rotor from Supercheap of all places. I don't think my Black top touring and Mild offroad work will justify the 4000's

I have some synthetic Elf Dot 5.1 brake fluid in the shed and was going to use this. This has worked well on other ABS equipped cars. It didn't work in the 505 Gti Pug though. Has anyone tried the 5.1 in their Disco?
