I got my ARB deluxe bar from Ritters, sure they could supply the Sahara bars too.
Hey Guys
I have read all of the threads on here about Sahara Bars on early D2's. I have a 2001 ES V8 and am desperate for a Sahara bar for my truck. I have called all of my local ARB stores and they say that they won't install, NOR EVEN SUPPLY a Sahara bar to me - knowing that it will be installed on a non-D2a.
If anyone knows where I can get my hands on one, new or used it would be greatly appreciated.

DICKS!
Sorry, but that really is pathetic!
Why not give someone the dosh and get them to order it for you, then fit it yourself?
I assume its just YOU they won't sell it to now coz you've been talking to them...??
Muppets! They're obviously overcharging on products so much they can now afford to turn business away.

I just got one for my D2a last week from arb, cost was $1728 last one they had, none left on the gold coast. just call arb and and dont tell them what you want to fit it on and they will tell you where there is one. I think they charge $220 for fitting and 250 to colour code it.
Jason.
An insider from ARB told me that due to the overseas commitments that the local market doesn't matter that much.
Shame they make such good products.
Fit the bar yourself as it is easy to do. Check projects.

Easy enough "technically" but boy they are dam heavy when a winch is in it!!......used my engine crane to support mine when fitting, DEF a 2 man job imo..
The vertical "lock bolts" in the crush cans are a bit fiddly as well, you'll need a long 3/8 drillbit for drilling the chassis for those.
Hence why you see so many D2s driving around with droopy bullbars, a lot of people don't seem to bother fitting the vertical bolts...
Drilling the chassis i found surprisingly easy, going directly vertically to match the bottom hole up with the top was a bit more tricky though....
Yeah I agree, I also think its why lots of people seem to say they move when winching, I think the lock bolt plays a BIG part in keeping it square. Was tugged up a slope...... and out off some big ruts with mine a week or so ago, and shes still sitting nice and square.
Looked at loads of piccys before buying mine, and always noticed the "wonky" ones............made dam sure mine was straight and VERY tight, then drilled / fitted the lock bolts to hopefully keep it there!!.
Hey Wobbs,
Try I think Dave at Richmond ARB he offered to drill the verticle bolts on mine for me when I was picking up some parts. However as stated it seems to be luck of the draw, as when I rang around ARB stores at the time to get mine fitted, comments like, "it depends if the boss says ok then we will do it" meant that this was not an option.
Honestly against the prices charged to fit it, do it yourself. I am not very technical, but between me and a mate, a few cold beers and a car jack it was fitted in a few hrs.
Second hand is your best and cheapest option, keep ringing the wreckers and looking on websites regularly
Too make life easier fit the winch after you fit the bar. I found that fitting the crush cans first, then fitting the bar was the easiest way. I as yet haven't done the down bolts but I will have to do this before I fit the winch
