Disco2 HSE rear on bumpstops overnight!

    Hey guys
Loading the Disco up this morning for my wife to drive it back from Melbourne to Canberra and noticed the rear was down on the bumpstops (well very low anyway) Now I know it has airbag rear suspension, but I didn't expect the air to leak out overnight. I've had it a week and this is the first time we've noticed. Is this normal or do I have an expensive leak.
I pressed the ride height button on the dash and the rear did come up. Is that what I have to do each morning??
    Help and advice appreciated
    Cheers

Sounds like a leak...but not necessarily in both. Get some soapy water onto the bags and see if there are any bubbles. Can get new ones from The Airbag Man AIRBAG MAN | Australia's No. 1 & leading Air Suspension :: Airbags :: Air Springs Specialists. I don't have the expertise...so got mates to put it in for me....no probs since, mind you could be under warranty if bought off a dealer,

Common problem with SLS, had it myself recently. Almost certainly leaking air bag. Basically you can regard them as a consumable item like tyres, made out of the same stuff. Usually recommended that both be replaced. Fairly easy to obtain as stevo68 says. Compressor can fail thru' overwork reinflating the bag & if its left too long. Some people replace the bags with coils but I'd rather keep the benefits of SLS especially the option to increase ride height off road

Thanks guys. Yeah it is both sides. So, just to confirm, how long should the bags stay 'upright' when not in use?

The rear should not leak at all so you should be able to come back a week later and nothing has changed. Was the car down before you loaded up because if you put a lot of weight in it will sag considerably until you start the engine where it self levels.

    what NanKas says
Hope it might just the loading up but if near the bumpstops...
Test is to see if you find the same thing next morning as they tend to go down overnight

Nah. car was empty and on the bumpstops before loading up. I started the engine and pressed the 'raise rear' button on the dash. It eventually came up. Is that the right thing to do???

I got a price of $295 each side (plus delivery) from the airbag man (thanks for the link), so I'll check to make sure they are leaking and order new ones next week

Using the raising rear button is only for offroad use.....it will chime once you go over 40km/h and lower. As long as doors are all shut...once you turn on the car...it should raise itself automatically, to check....wind down window and start from outside and it should raise,

    Get it sorted

My 2 cents worth, get it sorted early otherwise you could be up for a compressors as well. The existing one being burnt out from over use trying to keep up with the leak.

My wife just called me to let me know they've gone down again after just stopping for petrol at Gundagai. Both sides. Is that still indicating leak in both airbags or something more central?
    Cheers
