Do your coil packs need replacement?
I have been using Magnecors for the past 12 years (this and previous Rangie) with no problems.
I'm looking at replacing my coils and leads on my D2 V8, and i'm wondering whether people have had good/bad experiences with aftermarket brands, or whether anybody knows of the best place to buy genuine bosch coil packs from?
Money's tight, but i don't want this problem coming back in a few months because of inferior quality parts.
I'm most likely going to go with Magnecor leads, as i've had good experience with them on my MR2, anybody got a good reason to go with another brand?
Cheers,
Matt

Not completely sure yet whether they need replacing, but the issue i'm having feels like a loss of spark. The thing's done around 160k, and i know that it hasn't seen a specialist Land Rover workshop for atleast 6 years. It has also been running on Gas though I prefer not to run it on Gas, as it's a pretty crappy install IMHO, but unfortunately it was done by the previous owner - and is a little too keen to blow up airboxes.
But... I had some issues a little while back, which resulted in getting a new Air flow meter, which fixed that problem (oh along with an ECU reset), I also put fresh Oxy sensors in at the same time to get the fuel learning right. So i'm up to ignition components, as i'm hoping its not fuel delivery problems - but from what i've read, its more likely to be ignition than fuel.
I ordered myself a set of 8mm Magnecor leads from Performance Ignition Supplies today, so they should be here tomorrow.
I'd like to know what Coils are good, as i need to know what money i'm going to have to shell out, and how long i'm going to have to wait for them, in the event that when i do substantiate that the coils are the problem i've got it all figured out and can plan for the changeover.
On the other hand, if the el cheapo brands are as good as the Bosch version (unlikely but possible), i may just buy some to throw in right away to see what happens.
My hope is that somebody knows of a place that sells Bosch gear a good prices! I bought genuine Bosch Oxy sensors for less than half the price they are here from an online shop in the US, so maybe i can do the same with coils!
RockAuto Auto Parts is the place. Some things are dirt cheap, unfortunately, not Coil Packs for discos....
