    Hi Jeff,
    Just out of interest, what did it cost you?
    My 2001D2TD5 with just short of 160,000km did a big end three weeks ago too. Just got it back from the dealer yesterday. All options were very expensive. Cheapest was a 2nd hand engine from a rover wrecker in Sth Australia.
    The replacement came from a car with apparently 90,000km on it. Total cost $8,406

    It cost me around ten and a half, the engine was 5300 from a wrecker in SA with around 120,000 km (old engine had 190,000), the rest postage, labour and ancillaries. I had them fit a new oil pump bolt and rear main seal too.
