    $422 per kilometer

Well I picked up my Disco yesterday after having work done on the cooling system and the ABS shuttle valve switch and was pretty chuffed to have it back, especially since I had to wait for an o-ring to come from the UK. (Apparenty they don't have them here.)

I travelled a grand total of 9 kilometers before the cooling system sarted leaking again, considering I shelled out close to 4 grand this doesn't seem like very many kays.

Also, the coolant in the expnsion tank is red, but the coolant pouring out of the fuel cooler and pressure relief on the radiator hose is green.......WTF? The receipt I got after picking it up said that they had flushed the cooling system and filled it with 5L of red coolant, maybe they didn't flush it? Even the mechanic didn't know what to make of it.

    Crazy times.

incorrect flushing or no flushing technique.

    Fix it Quick.

OAT and traditional ethyl glycol coolants do not like each other.

Mate you just cant take trick right now can you?

Sounds like when they changed the coolant they have not removed the thermostat and line from the fuel cooler to the radiator. The radiator uses the bottom 4 or 5 cores for the fuel cooler. Sounds like the old coolant has remained here. As previously mentioned OAT and Glycol dont mix.
Maybe the knolwdge base of your mech is lacking?

    cheers.

    coolant colour

I`ve noticed that even though I have the red OAT,if it leaks,it frequently takes on a greenish tinge, probably on exposure to air.
If it looks nice and red in the Header tank it is prob.O.K.
Having said that if you have any doubts certainly flush and refill,as said, the 2 coolants don`t mix.
