    M and S lights TD5 Disco

    Hi All

I believe this is a transmission fault that puts it into limp Mode.

I have checked the Loom and there was a bit of oil in there so I have cleaned that out at both ends. I have also checked that battery and that seems all good as well.

My mechanic is sugesting a crook Solenoid. this sounds pricy.

This fault wasn't there before I took it off the road to do all of the water hoses and the brakes and sump gasket.

It came on while I was bleeding the brakes.

    any other ideas.

9/10 its teh inhibitor switch for the gbox, there not tooooo expensive and very common on the d2s, and about 10mins to change , there is a special tool to set it up once fitted but easily done with out tool,

    Thanks Stig

Is there a way of testing this before I buy one and after we have changed it will the computer fix itself or stay in Limp mode until I get it to a dealer to clear the error?

    Cheers

Agreed, I've just been there. If the battery is 100% (the sealed units can have a dead cell) ie starts the car instantly, then it's this switch.

umm,, im 99% sure you can plug and play with out clearing codes, but its worth wile clearing them, it takes all of 30secs with the T4

pretty much there is nothing else that will bring the lights on im sure,

its also worth wile to put a hose for the A.C drain as this is what kills them is the constant water on them,

Transmission limp mode is usually cleared by cycling the ignition.

What!!!! .... mate if you were just a bit closer I'd get my nanocom connected to your disco, do the do for you, and then do a bloody dance on your dealers doorstep TAKE THAT YOU THEIVING BASTARDS!

If you can find a nanocom to buy, it's equal to 2x visits to said dealer and it's all yours to keep forever!
