    CDL lever

    hi guys

ive been going through the mods to do on a disco 2 and found the cdl one is probably the most important. i know tis to be true as from going from my rangie to the disco with no CDL i found a big difference.

what i want to know is what ia the best way to go about it. i guess i need to find out if i have the right transmission and how to find out if i do, then is there a place to get this lever from or do i make one or rip off a later model

let me know as it would be a great help

    cheers dan

    Your on the right track...

    What year is your D2?

I'd always suggest getting the genuine lever or the Ashcroft unit..

Solonoids etc are a point of failure...

I went for the homemade under body push-pull lever.
I find it so simple and easy to use.
Simply reach under and pull when off road, reach under and push when on road.
With the SLABS wire cut, there are no other issues to bother about.
    Cheers,

The one I made is here:
    The Rover Shoppe: Products
I found that if you make the bracket 6" long rather than 4", you can drill the mounting holes further down the bracket to make it easier to screw on.
I made the handle a couple of inches longer to clear my ACE module/piping.
You will also need to put a bit of a set in the handle to make it fit, at least I had to.
    Cheers,
    Alan

Look in the RAVE cd - workshop manual - page 05-4.

    Transfer box number
Stamped on the rear of the transfer box casing above
    the bottom cover plate.

If you don't have a cd you can buy one here

I have a 2002 and there is no CDL parts at all so just getting a lever will not help.

I just picked up a full transfer case, lever, rear tailshaft (uni instead of rotoflex) and the diff centre that went with it from a D1 so will be installing ti get CDL in mine.
