The continuing woes of my D2

OK, just after having the auto transmission fluid problem resolved, yet another problem with my D2. Now it's the airconditioner. Made a fairly loud clunk from somewhere in the dash, then no air. Although the control panel looks normal and I can change fan settings, temp, air direction etc, no air. As if the blower fan has stopped. BTW I think the compressor is working ok, as engine speed changes if I turn the A/C off.

If it is the blower, anyone any ideas on cost, how to remove etc?

Mine did something similar, but in my case it was the fuse block under the steering wheel. Bought brand new second hand one to replace it, workes beautifully now.

What? The entire fuse box? Or just the A/C relay?

The fuse box is two circuit boards sandwiched with wires interconnecting them. The AC fan has a high current draw (8A from memory) and this causes the solder joints for the fan circuit to get hot and as a result they go dry.
If you use a meter you will see 12v when the fan is disconnected but when a load is connected the voltage dissapears as the dry joint cannot carry the current required. The solution is to either replace the fuse box or resolder the dry joints.
