2000 TD5 parts and service info

ok, well as some of you may have read, i picked up my TD5 last week.

any info on my plans would be great.

i have done a lot of searching and found some resources, but why not ask here as lots of you have all done what i want to do.

ok, so here is a list of the things i want to do so far:

New front bar with winch slot - $ ???
    New rear bar ( steel ) - $400 ???
    New spotlights - $200'ish
    UHF radio & antenna - $300'ish ???
    2" lift kit - $1000'ish ???
    sump guard - $300'ish ???
    winch - $1200'ish ???

and also, i have the typical transfer case leak.... although after a clean, i believe it is coming from forward of the transer case, and above it...
after a day out, it drops maybe 2-4 drops... do you think i should bother with this issue or just top it up when needed?

any help on prices, places to buy, etc etc would be great!

    cheers all

    jack

haha yeah, i really need some one that knows these things really well to come and have a look for me... and give me some pointers too.

its oil judging by the viscosity of it... so yeah, i believe the power steering fluid would be a lot thinner.

    jack,

the first thing i would put in any disco td5 is the cdl lever mate. changes the car like you would not believe in only a couple of seconds.

better then a winch and i have both.

    hi keith

what exactly does the cdl do?
i believe it is a centre diff lock, and its obvious that it is a lock that can be applied or not, but how does this help compared to diff lockers etc.

    jack,

yeah mate is a centre diff lock. it always you to divide the power 50:50 between the front and back axle. it also allows you to turn of the traction control which in wa is a killer in the sand. in some cases even a rav4 goes better on the sand with out it. it will also make traction control work back in all off road areas.
