Rear bumper meets tree
having packed up camp onthe Bloomfield river was all set to go- and reversed straight into a tree
. It hit almost exactly on the left side 'bump' where the bumper juts out a little further, which is lucky, if it had have hit the shovel holder on the tyre it would have pushed the whole door panel in. Has cracked the plastic but biggest problem is the door now won't swing freely as it seems to have pushed the whole bumper upwards- just wondering if anyone can give me a heads up on how the bumper is assembled? It seems like it would be faily easy to remove in which case i might be able to get to the metal with a hammer or similar and knock it back into place. After a bit of hammering I can get the door open by lifting it up and out but this will wear the hinge in no time. Thanks..

Beanie,
Basically 2 bolts hold the bumper to the vehicle (where those 2 sections where it "juts" out a little) & a few screws on the wings & a couple of clips from memory, havent removed on for a few years now.
It may be possible to just loosen the 2 bolts & drop the bar so you can open the door for now.
Cheers.

I reversed into a coconut tree up the cape. Found it reasonably easy to weld the cracked plastic with a propane torch and due care, quite proud of the job hard to pick.
