Do not buy speakers without having the car there, or, alternatively, taking your front doorskin with you!

The doors will hold most 6 inch speakers, and some 6.5in speakers...BUT....very importantly, the "cone angle" varies from speaker to speaker, and this will interfere with the fit. You can make any fit with a dremel, but its tedious, and messy.

The door skin takes about 5 mins to pop off. Walk into shop, put it on counter, tell them to find a speaker that fits, then listen to that speaker and see if you are happy.

If you are pedantic, and must have a certain speaker type...like yours truly, be prepared to **** around for ages making it fit

    Depending on budget, try Focal's.
They are pricey but perform better than most, they make a perfect set for the front with splits and external crossover where you select own frequency etc.

They also have a powered sub to fit snug under the seat.

Once you hear them next to say pioneer or even polk audios, they really shine so bring you credit dard.

On a slightly different note ,pun intended, does the JVC just plug in where the old one comes out or do you need new connectors and the like. What model did you get?
    Thanks
