Water in passenger footwel after heavy rain
Hi All,
yes another leaking footwell question. Have done a search but cannot find anything that directly links to my issue.
Yesterday in melb we have some heavy rain, and after driving I noticed a pool of water in the LHS footwell that had gathered and was running off towards the door on the floor mat. It was a reasonable amount of water.
Put my hand up under the dash and directly in the centre of the footwell dash and could feel it was wet, and the packing or foam I felt was wet through. It was dripping down directly from the centre of the dash on the passenger side footwell.
Since the rain no issues.
Is there anywhere specifically I need to be looking, as it has only done this with the car being driven.
Thanks
JB

JB,
Remove windscreen lower finisher & make a cover for the air intake box.
(just a small flap-across the entire top length)
You may find that the lower finisher has moved away from the glass also & the water is leaking directly from the glass down onto/into the fresh air intake box.
Cheers

leaking footwell
I have been chasing a wet footwell cause for months, resealed the windscreen, rear windows, checked door seals, checked A/C drains, checked heater inlet with no success.
Finally found the cause,I had removed the under door plastic cills and fitted protection rails, also removed the plastic mud flaps, the vehicle did not leak at the car wash ,only on the way home on a wet road the spray from the tyres was pumping the water along the top of the rails and up under the lower door seals.
Refitted the flaps and no more water entry.
Regards
