    SLS Lift question.

    Gidday guys.
I'm relitively new here and still trying to work my way through all the valuable info on this site.
    I have a 2004 Disco2.
I had it all booked in for a lift including converting the rear end to coils and poly airs. Trouble is my financial situation changed suddenly and I had to cancel the job.
I have been trolling the net and found a company in the US selling a spacer kit that includes spacers for the front coils as well thus doing a 2inch lift all round without needing to replace anything else.
Here is an extract from there sales page

    Product Description

This is the lift for the Discovery II owners with the factory air ride rear, (rear air spring/ air bag) This is a set of 2" CNC machined aluminum front coil spring spacers, a set of CNC machined aluminum rear air bag spring spacers, that can be used on a Land Discovery Series II 1999 through 2004 with the factory air ride rear. This will provide 2" of extra lift for bigger tires or more ground clearance, while still using the stock springs / shocks, or with after-market lift springs / shocks. This kit has the front shock relocation mounts. Also included, all grade 8 hardware, rear air ride adjustment bracket, and instructions. This is a precisely machined direct bolt in kit.

Any thoughts, potential problems with this would be greatly appreciated. The kit is very reasonably priced and if its a goer would lift the whole vehicle for under $400.
I tow a van so am keen to keep the SLS and the main reason for the lift is beach use. I don't do too much hard offroad stuff.

    Hi Andy

Whatever you do, don't remove the SLS ! It's a brilliant system and is ideal for towing. (Just have a look in Youtube at the Discovery 2 launch video!)

You should be able to get everything you need to do the job you want in Australia for a good price. eg here:

for the SLS. And riased heavy duty front springs (eg Kings). Both these would be $400 total, but longer shocks would be extra.
    Cheers

YesI want to keep the SLS. i guess my question was relating more to putting spacers in the front end instead of longer springs.

See Tombie2 here for SLS spacer kit, also ask him about front springs.
He certainly helped me out - at great price too.

BTW, the new coil springs I installed weren't any longer, just stiffer, making the front sit 2" higher.
