I think most brands in this size fit. I have a new Coopers st on the back and it just fits & a mate is the same in mickey thompson atz. Tyre sits on the rear bar. I guess a used tyre might give a bit of clearance. Having said that I don't think all brands are physically the same size even tho' they are sold as a certain std. size.

I have BFG muddies that size, when brand new the tyre just touches the rear bar and you can still close the back door JUST. With a slightly worn one there are no issues.

The short answer to your question is "yes"

I have the same size tyre on, and it just clears the rear bar...

I went to 255/70R16's and it was rubbing so I put on a 'Spare Tire Relocator' from this mob:

British Parts of Utah-Land Range Rover Sport LR4 LR3 LR2 Discovery Defender Freelander Genuine OEM Accessories Parts

No clearance problems even with the 247/75's I run now.

Interesting as the slightly smaller 255/70's wouldn't fit with my standard bumper.

The easy fix is to invert the tyre hanger. Just remove the inner door trim and fiddle around past the plastic liner and you're done. You will have to drill two new holes in it (not the door) and the wheel will sit slightly more to the centre as there is an offset in the hanger. You then end up with about an inch clearance....much better and safer IMO than risking pushing the bar up into the tyre if you bottom out.

    cheers Daryl
