Where are all the SE and HSEs?

I am currently shopping around for a D2a TD5 at the moment with low kms. There seems to be plenty of S models and Classic/Country packs out there but SE and HSEs seem to be as rare as hens teeth.

    Thus my question is

    1) Are they really rare or are all the lucky buggers who own one not planning to sell them anytime soon

I have young kids so I want leather and I love the stereo (I drove a gentleman's "platinum" model with the 29 speakers or so ) in these models. Plus all the other fruit is nice too!!

Anyone going to fess up to owning one??

    Cheers

    Michael

There is a black td5 HSE on carsales now via dealer.
Quite a few SE's too and make a list of what you want and some/many S models were up spec'd to suit.
I have a rare SE Plus, its got most of the fruit for a S1 but still the 300tdi which I really wanted.
Look and search my friend, they are out there for sure.

I also have a friend with a HSE and did at one stage offer it to me but for $35k he was chasing it is just too much. Sure he paid double that but that's his problem. Lovely car and the DVD with wireless is wicked for the kids.
    Good luck Search/ Search/ Search

Black HSE was up for less than a day. Had a good price but way too many kms (for my money anyway).

A couple of SE models but you have to be careful. When you ring up and ask a few questions you work out that they are not necessarily HSE or SE models.

Anyway I am having fun looking anyway.

Beats working (pretending to work that is!)

should merge this with the other post,,
yes they are around, yes you can spec an SE up to nearly a HSE, yes they came in both fuels, yes they are around, keep looking.
and yes the big stereo only plays cd's, not mp3's
the kids will love the dvd and sunroofs(lockable)

BUT where's the cd pause button????

I also recon a big reason to not get an '04 Classic or Country model is they were not available with ACE. The HSE has ACE as standard. Not sure about the late SE's though

I was under the impression that D2As didn't have ACE, oh well wrong on that one I guess!

ACE was an option on any model,
    but standard on HSE.

Its funny in 02 I jumped out of my VT S Commodore manual V6 with its FE2 suspension and very very nice weight balance into a D2 TD5 manual. We went for a drive and after a roundabout and a sweeper I said "this one must have ACE" and the dealer said..."arghh no its just coils and no ACE...". I jumped underneath when we got back and had a good look and sure enough no ACE. I then drove the V8 with no ACE and couldnt believe how good the handling was. I loved the V8 and it ability to accelerate up hills at highway speed and its quiet silky smooth delivery. I signed up for a manual V8 without ACE and have never looked back. I imagine ACE must be better again, but drive one without as well.

    Cheers
