Leak as in a refrigerant leak or water leak Ean ?

If a refrigerant leak there are stop leaks available

Believe it or not, Electrolux approve these for warranty use in all their brands of fridges and freezers.
I'm still not convinced it's not just to get the things outside of warranty without costing the company too much money, but the National service manager assures me they are ok and work.

I can dig up the info if you are game.
From memory the leak had to be smaller than 14% over four weeks of a gas charge for it to be effective.

    Gday Rick,

Refridgerant leak and it is bloody slow, but the dye is showing up in the water that drips from the drain so can only assume its in the evap unit, which lives behind the dash in the disco...Bloody chipmonks must've partied to hard on our Canning trip.. I have plenty of time as we dont finish fishing till end of Nov so any temp solution till then would be worth a try..SWMBO will be happy if you can reccom something..

    Thanks and Cheers Ean

Get a new drier and the stuff is made by Cliplight.
Heatcraft stock it, not sure on Actrol but the domestic refrig wholesalers will definitely stock it and it should be quite a bit cheaper through them, although they may not have the auto air one. (there's a few different versions)

Cliplight Manufacturing - HVACR - Classic Super Seal Premium™

Never tried the auto a/c one (we did a complete hose change on a big Fiat tractor here six months ago before I resorted to it ) but have used it on domestic fridges for Electrolux and it's worked so far.
I did try it on a split A/C system in a nursing home out of frustration where I couldn't locate the leak.
No luck, but the crap oozing out of the coil showed up where the leak/s were.
All the copper tube was splitting in the indoor coil so we just removed and replaced.

Check if your evaporator is leaking or not. The leak could be a pin hole leak on a weld which is fixable. If the evaporator has become porous, throw it away and replace it. The only way to check for either problem is to inspect the thing. Not pleasant, but if there is no other detectable leak in the system and you can see the dye in the drain water, the hard yards are the answer.

    Cheers,

    Jason
