    funny old TD5

Something funny happened on the way to work this morning, when I went out to the disco and start the car the horn made a little beep as I turned the key and nothing happened. The car would not start. First thing I done was check that I left it in P, yes it was in P.

So I turned the key back and started the process again, and away she went like there was nothing wrong.

Has this happened to anybody else?

New Battery was installed 5 months ago. So I will check remote. Is it a watch battery in the remote?

Yes It's happened to me, but the car started in limp mode. A restart fixed it.

It happens to mine occasionally(every couple months or so the car will crank over but won't start at all).
I give the plug connected to the injector harness a wiggle and then everything is good for another couple of months.
I replaced the injector harness originally and flushed and wiped oil as much as I could. I used a full can of circuitboard cleaner, but a little oil still does that capilliary action thing and works its way back up from the loom into the plug. I guess it will stop eventually.

    Cheers,

    Jason
