Thanks for the info Bidds,
When I was at Fraser I only aired down to 20psi front and back which was the recommendation from my mate who was in his Prado with big AT's. I had no troubles getting there or back and general driving around. There was one track I couldn't get up which was really cut up and I had three or four go's at it. Just couldn't get the momentum to get through it. There was an easy way around which I then took but copped some stick from the guy in his brand new 89 series with big fat tyres on who was waiting for me at the top. I have a fair bit of experience in dirt but not so much in sand.
Didn't realise about the extra lip on the factory rims. I'm after some black rims so maybe painting or powder-coating some 16" alloys might be the go. Just that a brand new set of black steel rims is less work and might even be cheaper. Better do my sums again.
