Where can I put my Traxide SC80?

    Hi

Just got a Traxide kit for my Camper trailer battery ... Can you tell me (or show me) where to mount the SC80 in my D2 Td5 engine bay .... seems awfully cramped in there.

    Thanks

    Craig

I installed mine at the brake booster end of the fuse box. I made a plate which the Traxide was on and bolted this to the end of the fuse box. Angled the plate down slightly to allow any water runoff and the cables went from the battery along the side of the engine bay to the Traxide. After the Traxide the cables went down to the chassis rail and cable tied to the fuel rail until it reached the back.

    A rather neat installation actually.

I have mine mounted on the quarter panel, right rear corner beside the brake booster. I have Traxide's headlight upgrade kit (well worth it) mounted in the jack compartment otherwise I would have put the SC80 in there. Jack sits in the left rear bin. I have two Orbitals mounted in the right rear bin.

I gather you mean the actual SC80 unit.
I mounted mine on the rhs under the bonnet close up to the fire wall. Made it easy to run the cables from the main to the second battery (which is on the lhs near the bloody turbo). Never had a problem with it there and can see the charge state light at a glance when I check other stuff each day.
If in doubt, ask Drivesafe, he's fitted them to just about every moving thing I think.
